WannaDate? Refund Policy
Last updated July 10, 2026
This Refund Policy explains two different kinds of remedies: automatic token returns that happen in the app when someone cancels or blocks after an accepted date (instant, no request needed), and purchase remedies for money you paid for token packs or Premium (reviewed case-by-case). This Refund Policy is part of our Terms of Service.
REFUND OPTIONS
Preferred remedies: Token balance credits and Premium extensions are usually the fastest options once approved. Card refunds remain available and are processed by Authorize.net to your original payment method (typically 5 to 10 business days after approval).
The remedies we can provide are:
- Token balance credit: an instant credit to your token balance once approved (preferred).
- Premium extension: an instant extension of your Premium subscription once approved (preferred).
- Card refund: processed via Authorize.net to your original payment method, typically within 5 to 10 business days.
HOW PAYMENTS WORK
WannaDate? never collects, stores, or processes cardholder data (card number, CVV, or cardholder name). Checkout and card refunds are handled by Authorize.net. We only keep ledger references needed for your account, such as amounts, status, and processor transaction IDs.
AUTOMATIC IN-APP CANCELLATION RULES
These rules apply automatically in Dates. They return a platform access token to your balance. They are not a credit-card refund of a token purchase.
- If a pending request is declined or cancelled before acceptance, no tokens are charged and there is nothing to refund.
- If you cancel after acceptance, you keep your charge (if you were charged at acceptance) and no token is returned to you.
- If the other member cancels after acceptance, one token is returned to you instantly if you were charged.
- If a Premium member was not charged a token at acceptance, there is no per-request charge and no token return.
- If either party already marked the date complete, in-app cancel is blocked; contact support if needed.
- If an admin cancels from the dashboard, there is no automatic token refund and support may adjust manually.
- If either member blocks the other, pending and accepted dates are cancelled. The blocked party may receive one token back if charged at acceptance; the blocker does not.
If the other member cancelled an accepted date in the app and you were charged a token, check Billing for a token cancellation refund entry. Contact us only if it did not appear.
HOW TO REQUEST A PURCHASE REFUND
The in-app Request Refund flow is the primary path:
- Open Billing and open the completed purchase receipt.
- Tap Request refund and choose a preferred remedy (token credit or Premium extension recommended; card refund available).
- Describe what happened. We open a support ticket automatically.
You can also email [email protected] with your account email, transaction ID, preferred remedy, and reason.
- Requests should usually be submitted within 14 days of the charge or incident.
- Only one remedy is issued per purchase transaction.
- Supporting evidence helps for no-show or harassment claims (describe it in the ticket; email attachments if needed).
We target acknowledgment within 2 business days and a decision within 7 business days after we have the information we need. Token credits and Premium extensions apply instantly on approval. Card refunds then post in 5 to 10 business days via Authorize.net.
MANUAL REFUNDS: WHAT QUALIFIES
Purchase remedies are discretionary and reviewed case-by-case.
Typically qualifies (with documentation):
- Documented no-show or off-platform cancel with chat evidence.
- Platform or product failure, such as a double charge, missing chat after acceptance, or an erroneous renewal.
- Verified fraud or impersonation.
Reviewed case-by-case:
- The other party blocked you after accepting. The blocked party's token is returned automatically when applicable; contact support only if your balance does not match this policy.
- Off-platform cancellation with notice, depending on timing and context.
Safety or harassment: use the in-app report flow. We may issue a token credit referencing a safety case at our discretion.
Typically does not qualify:
- You cancel after acceptance.
- You blocked the other party.
- Chat disagreements without a no-show or platform failure.
- "The date didn't go well."
- Referral bonus tokens (see Referral Program Terms).
Chargebacks: Please contact us first so we can resolve quickly. We do not restrict paid access solely for good-faith billing disputes while we investigate. Billing features may be limited for confirmed fraud or bad-faith disputes after review.
PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLATION
Cancel Premium anytime from Billing at wannadate.app/settings/billing#premium. You keep Premium until the end of the current period. Cancelling stops auto-renew; it does not automatically refund the current period unless you submit a purchase refund request that we approve.
TAXES ON REFUNDS
If tax was collected on the original charge, tax is refunded with the platform fee to the original payment method per applicable law and Authorize.net's policies.
