How does WannaDate? work?

WannaDate? is a platform connecting buyers and sellers for social dating experiences. Buyers browse seller profiles, send date requests, and once accepted, they can chat and arrange meetings. After the date, both parties can leave reviews. We facilitate connections—you handle the rest.

What is the age requirement?

You must be 18 years or older to use WannaDate?. We verify age during signup and do not allow accounts for users under 18 or over 100 years old.

What's the difference between buyer and seller accounts?

Buyers browse seller profiles and send date requests. Sellers create profiles with pricing and accept or decline date requests. You choose your account type during signup, and it determines which features you can access.

Do I need to verify my email?

Yes, email verification is required to activate your account. You'll receive a verification link after signing up. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.

Can I switch account types?

Account types are set during signup and cannot be changed. If you want to use the platform as both a buyer and seller, you would need to create separate accounts with different email addresses.

Tokens & Pricing

How do tokens work?

Tokens are used to make connections on the platform. You receive 3 free tokens when you sign up. Buyers: Sending a date request is FREE—you're only charged 1 token when the seller accepts. Sellers: You're charged 1 token when you accept a date request. If a request is declined or cancelled, no tokens are charged.

When are tokens charged?

Tokens are only charged when a date request is accepted. Buyers are not charged when sending requests—only when sellers accept. Both buyer and seller are charged 1 token each simultaneously when the seller accepts. No charges occur for declined or cancelled requests.

Do I get free tokens?

Yes! All new accounts receive 3 free tokens when you sign up. This allows you to make your first connections without purchasing tokens.

What happens if my request is declined?

If your date request is declined, no tokens are charged. You can use your tokens to send requests to other sellers. There are no refunds needed because you were never charged.

Can I get a refund for tokens?

Token purchases are generally non-refundable. However, if you experience technical issues or have concerns, please contact support. Premium subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, and you'll retain access until the end of your billing period.

Payments

How do payments work?

Platform fees (tokens and Premium subscriptions) are charged by WannaDate? for access to features. The actual date payment (seller's price) is arranged directly between users using their preferred method (cash, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, etc.). WannaDate? does not process or receive date payments—we only facilitate connections.

How do I pay for dates?

Date payments are arranged directly between you and the other user. After a date request is accepted, you'll chat to coordinate details including payment method. Common methods include cash, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, or any method you both agree on. WannaDate? does not handle these payments.

Does WannaDate? process date payments?

No. WannaDate? only processes platform fees (tokens and Premium subscriptions). We do not process, receive, or handle payments for dates themselves. Date payments are arranged privately between users. We are not liable for payment disputes between users.

Is my payment secure?

Yes, we use industry-standard security measures to protect your payment information for platform fees (tokens and Premium subscriptions). All transactions are encrypted and processed securely through our payment processor. For date payments arranged between users, we recommend using secure payment methods and meeting in public places.

Premium Subscription

What is Premium?

Premium is a monthly subscription ($15/month) that gives you unlimited tokens, ad-free experience, ability to see who viewed your profile, priority support, and works for both buyers and sellers. You can cancel anytime.

What are the benefits of Premium?

Premium includes: unlimited tokens (no per-request charges), ad-free browsing experience, see who viewed your profile, priority customer support, available for both buyer and seller accounts, and you can cancel anytime with no long-term commitment.

Can I cancel Premium?

Yes, you can cancel your Premium subscription at any time from your dashboard. You'll retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for the current month, but you won't be charged for future months.

Safety & Privacy

How do I report a problem?

You can report issues by clicking 'Report Issue' in the footer, or by visiting a user's profile and clicking 'Report User'. Our support team reviews all reports promptly and takes appropriate action.

How do I block someone?

You can block users from their profile page. Once blocked, they cannot send you date requests or messages. You can manage your blocked users in your settings.

Can I remain anonymous?

Your identity is kept private. Only necessary information is shared between matched parties, and we never share your personal contact information with others. Your email and phone number are never visible to other users.

What information is shared with other users?

Other users can see your profile information (photos, bio, pricing if you're a seller, ratings, reviews). They cannot see your email, phone number, or exact location. After a date request is accepted, you can chat to share additional details privately.

Dates & Requests

Can I cancel a date request?

Yes, you can cancel a pending date request at any time before it's accepted. If you cancel before the seller responds, no tokens are charged. Once a date has been accepted, you should coordinate cancellation directly with the other user.

What happens if the seller doesn't show up?

If a seller doesn't show up for a scheduled date without notice, you can report the issue through our support system. We'll investigate and may provide token refunds for platform fees. However, disputes about date payments (the seller's price) should be handled directly between you and the seller, as WannaDate? does not process those payments.

What if I cancel a date after it's been accepted?

Once a date request is accepted, tokens have already been charged (this cannot be refunded). You should coordinate cancellation directly with the other user. For date payments, discuss cancellation policies and refunds directly with the other party, as WannaDate? does not handle those transactions.
