Guidance for U.S. law enforcement seeking records or preservation from WannaDate LLC. This page is informational and is not legal advice.
HOW TO SUBMIT REQUESTS
WannaDate LLC reviews and responds to valid legal process from U.S. law enforcement. Submit requests on official letterhead from a government email address to [email protected] with the subject line "Law Enforcement Request". Include the requesting agency, officer name and contact information, the legal process attached, the specific account identifiers (username, email, or profile URL), and the precise records sought.

REQUIRED LEGAL PROCESS
We require valid legal process appropriate to the data sought, consistent with the Stored Communications Act (18 U.S.C. §§ 2701–2712) and other applicable law:
- Subpoena — basic subscriber records (e.g., account email, account creation date, and related non-content records).
- Court order (18 U.S.C. § 2703(d)) — certain non-content transactional records.
- Search warrant — content records (e.g., message content), where available and retained.
We may notify affected users of a request before disclosure unless prohibited by law or a valid court order, or where notice would be counterproductive (for example, in cases involving a risk to a minor or an imminent safety threat).
PRESERVATION REQUESTS
Under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f), we will honor valid preservation requests and preserve available records for 90 days, renewable for an additional 90 days on request, pending service of formal legal process. Send preservation requests to [email protected] and identify the account(s) and the time period at issue.
EMERGENCY DISCLOSURE REQUESTS
In emergencies involving a danger of death or serious physical injury, we may disclose information to law enforcement without legal process where permitted by 18 U.S.C. § 2702. Mark the request "EMERGENCY DISCLOSURE REQUEST" and describe the nature of the emergency, the specific danger, and why the information is needed without delay.
CSAM / NCMEC REPORTING
WannaDate? has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and the exploitation of minors. Consistent with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, when we obtain actual knowledge of apparent CSAM, we report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and preserve related evidence as required by law. The public can also report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline at https://report.cybertipline.org.
To report suspected exploitation of a minor on WannaDate, use the in-app report tool (select "Trafficking, Exploitation, or a Minor (CSAM)") or email [email protected]. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.
WHAT DATA WE MAY HAVE
Depending on the account and retention period, available records may include account registration data (email, account creation date), profile data, IP and access logs, transaction metadata for platform-fee payments (WannaDate never stores cardholder data), and message content where retained. We do not conduct criminal background checks on members. Data availability is not guaranteed and depends on our retention practices described in our Privacy Policy (/privacy-policy).
